Climbers on a portaledge on a big wall

Big walls are routes the require more than one day to climb. In order to spend a night (ore more) on the wall one needs proper arrangements. To climb big wall routes sleeping and cooking gear is generally needed. In addition to climbing gear, sleeping bags, lots of water and food are taken. If there are no ledges on the route, a portaledge and hanging stove is also required. Toilet may also be an issue that needs consideration. All this stuff is put in a [haulbag]] (or pig), which is especially designed to be dragged over large distances of rock/

Big walls can be free or aid routes, but usually will combine both free and aid climbing.
